Directing

In addition to beign an actor, Elena aspires to have a career in directing theatre and other live arts. They are particularly drawn to the creation of new works exploring queer identity and purpose, and building surreal, liminal spaces for audiences to engage with physically and emotionally.

Historically

Elena's budding career in directing began in high school, when she assistant directed a regiojnal production of Peter Pan, and continued on to further involvement in other regional productions, in TYA productions, and in college, on new works.

Now

Elena is currently pursuing a self- and community- focused education in directing. Instead of pursuing a graduate degree, elena is learning from doing (and reading..and watching seminars). Their experiences as an actor have shown them the self-drive and creative values that directing requires, and they are sensing a deep alignment with building their directing practice. If you are reading this and looking for an assistant director or dramaturg, I'd love to come learn from and work with you, please reach out!
